HOW WE SHOW UP

Not as consultants. As operators.

WADE doesn’t work like traditional advisory. We either:

  • Embed for focused sprints to hit a milestone (reset, launch, capital moment), or

  • Operate as an extension of your team on retainer where we stay close to the data and the hard conversations.

You'll know within the first week whether we're adding value. We move fast—cutting through reports, challenging assumptions in real time, and making trade-offs explicit in working sessions, not in a presentation three months later.

WHO CALLs US

  • Your top-3 retailer buyer just pushed back on your assortment recommendation. You’ve got two weeks to come back with a plan that holds or risk losing distribution on hero SKUs.

  • You need to rationalize SKUs across a large category. Every brand says they're "strategic." Merchants want one thing, finance wants another. You need a story that works in the room and actually makes sense on the shelf.

  • Leadership wants you to pick the next vertical, with ROI and competitive positioning, in six weeks. You need someone who knows what will actually convert, not just what sounds good in the deck.

  • Your portfolio company missed plan two quarters in a row. They're calling it "category dynamics," but you need to know what's really broken—execution, positioning, or both—before you fund the next phase.

  • You’re walking into a board meeting in 30 days to defend a major change (SKU cuts, channel shifts, spend reallocation). You need the logic pressure-tested before you bet your credibility on it.

WHAT PEOPLE SAY ABOUT US

“Entering a new market carried real operational risk, and we needed operators with retail relationships and margin discipline. WADE understood how distribution actually works, how retailers make decisions, and moved us onto a credible path to market.”

— GLOBAL HEAD, HIGH-GROWTH CONSUMER BRAND

“We went into our Series A thinking the product and market heat would be enough. WADE pushed us to prove it: tighter benchmarks, a real CAC payback story, and the right retail proof points. Investor conversations shifted from polite interest to actual checks.”

— FOUNDER AT VENTURE-BACKED AI STARTUP

“We started with a strong mission, but as we scaled, we fell into the trap of trying to serve everyone. WADE reframed our business around a grounded strategy to win in market. We moved from unfocused expansion to disciplined execution, with our team aligned around real signals of product–market fit.”

FAQ

  • WADE is an operator-led advisory bringing clarity to the decisions that matter.

Unlike traditional consulting firms that operate at arm’s length, WADE works alongside leaders as decisions move from conversation to execution. Our advice is grounded in lived operator experience — not theory, frameworks, or recycled best practices.

  • WADE partners with organizations and leadership teams operating inside complex commercial ecosystems. It’s here that decisions are tightly interconnected, visible across stakeholders, and difficult to rewind once made.

While every engagement is bespoke, our work consistently centers around four types of partners and decision environments:

    • Ambitious consumer brands and founders navigating growth, scale, or transition moments.

    • Retailers and marketplaces reshaping category roles, margin models, and supplier expectations.

    • Tech Platforms (platforms, agencies, distributors, and enablement providers) making bets on which brands, categories, and capabilities to back.

    • Capital Partners facing conviction, diligence, and post-investment alignment decisions.

In each environment, WADE is engaged when the cost of a poor decision is high. Especially when complexity is mounting and leaders need operator-led clarity to move with confidence.

  • WADE does not follow a rigid methodology because decisions don’t unfold in straight lines — and neither does our work.

Our engagements typically move through three phases:

    1. Clarify What Matters: We surface the real risks, trade-offs, and constraints so decisions are grounded in reality, not urgency or optimism.

    2. Pressure-Test Decisions: We test choices against P&L impact, execution capacity, timing, and downstream consequences before resources are committed.

    3. Stay Close as Things Move: We remain engaged as momentum builds. When conditions shift and implications surface, we reinforce direction through operator judgment and access to a vetted ecosystem of partners and capital relationships.

  • WADE does not offer fixed deliverables. We lead you toward outcomes. Depending on the decision you face, our engagement may include:

    • Clear decision framing and sequencing

    • Pressure-tested strategic paths with explicit trade-offs GTM, retail, or capital readiness assessments

    • Narrative clarity across stakeholders (internal, retail, investor)

    • Execution guardrails to prevent false momentum

    • Introductions to vetted partners or capital where appropriate

What clients consistently gain is clarity they can act on, fewer reversals, and decisions that hold as conditions change.

  • WADE engagements are bespoke and structured around decision gravity, scope, and duration.

We structure our work in a few distinct ways, depending on the situation:

    • Project-based engagements tied to a specific decision or inflection point.

    • Ongoing advisory retainers where continued judgment and presence are required.

    • Capital and diligence-aligned work supporting investment, evaluation, or post-close focus.

Pricing reflects the depth of involvement, the level of accountability required, and how closely WADE stays engaged as decisions move into execution.

  • Much of WADE’s work involves sensitive commercial, strategic, and capital decisions. For that reason, we don’t publish detailed case studies.

That said, WADE’s founders bring more than 20 years of operator and advisory experience across Fortune 500 brands, high-growth companies, and capital-backed businesses.

If it makes sense to explore working together, book a call with us and we’ll share relevant examples, context, and references in our first conversation.

  • We work with a trusted, highly curated network of operators, technologists, capital partners, and advisors built over decades in consumer and commerce ecosystems. We don’t publish this network. Introductions are made thoughtfully and only when there is clear strategic fit and mutual value.

If you believe there may be a meaningful opportunity to partner — or to work alongside our ecosystem — the right next step is to start a conversation.
